The subscription-free softphone for Zadarma on Mac, Windows & Linux

WaveKat Voice is a desktop softphone that connects to your Zadarma account over SIP and records and transcribes every call automatically, on your own computer. It runs on Mac, Windows and Linux, it is free during the public beta, and there is no monthly subscription — so your Zadarma number rings on your desktop with every conversation written down, without buying speech-recognition minutes. A call flow can answer the Zadarma calls you cannot take, with a greeting and voicemail, and every call can log itself in your HubSpot CRM.

What WaveKat Voice does

How to set up a Zadarma softphone

Zadarma is in WaveKat Voice’s guided provider list, so you don’t hand-edit SIP fields — you pick Zadarma and enter your SIP number and password from your Zadarma personal account.

  1. 1Download and open WaveKat Voice on your Mac, Windows or Linux computer.
  2. 2Add an account and choose Zadarma from the provider list.
  3. 3Enter your Zadarma SIP number (a number like 123456) as the username, and its SIP password. Both are in your Zadarma personal account, under Settings → SIP connection.
  4. 4Using Zadarma’s cloud phone system? Enter the extension login instead (like 1234-100) with its own password, and change the domain to pbx.zadarma.com.
  5. 5WaveKat Voice registers with Zadarma — a green dot means you’re signed in. Call 4444, Zadarma’s call-quality test, to hear yourself played back. Every call is recorded and transcribed automatically.

Prefer to enter it by hand? A Zadarma SIP number signs in to sip.zadarma.com over UDP on port 5060; an extension of the Zadarma cloud phone system signs in to pbx.zadarma.com. If your network blocks internet calls, Zadarma also accepts encrypted TLS connections on port 5061 — set Connection to TLS and Port to 5061 under Advanced. Pick Zadarma in WaveKat Voice and the domain is filled in for you.

What Zadarma gives you for calling

Zadarma is an international VoIP provider with phone numbers in many countries and a free cloud phone system. Every account gets a SIP number, and Zadarma’s own free app covers Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, with calls in the browser too — and because your account is standard SIP, any SIP softphone can register with it.

Frequently asked questions

Does WaveKat Voice work with Zadarma?

Yes. WaveKat Voice is a SIP softphone and Zadarma is in its guided provider list, so you pick Zadarma, enter your SIP number and SIP password, and it registers — no manual SIP configuration. It works on Mac, Windows and Linux, and every call is recorded and transcribed automatically.

How do I set up a softphone for Zadarma?

In WaveKat Voice, add an account, pick Zadarma from the provider list, and enter your SIP number (like 123456) and its password from Settings → SIP connection in your Zadarma personal account. The domain, sip.zadarma.com, is filled in for you. Then call 4444, Zadarma’s call-quality test, to check your audio.

Why won’t my Zadarma extension sign in?

Extensions of the Zadarma cloud phone system (logins like 1234-100) sign in to pbx.zadarma.com, not sip.zadarma.com. Change the domain to pbx.zadarma.com and use the password from the phone system’s extensions page, not your SIP number’s password.

What if my network blocks Zadarma calls?

Some offices and countries block ordinary SIP traffic. Zadarma accepts encrypted TLS connections on port 5061, so set Connection to TLS and Port to 5061 under Advanced in WaveKat Voice. TLS encrypts the sign-in and call setup; WaveKat Voice does not encrypt the call audio itself (SRTP) yet.

What is the best softphone for Zadarma on Mac, Windows or Linux?

If you want a subscription-free desktop softphone for Zadarma that records and transcribes every call on your own computer, WaveKat Voice is built for that on Mac, Windows and Linux. Zadarma’s free app is the pick for iPhone and Android and has no Linux version; Zoiper runs everywhere but is free only for non-commercial use.

Is the Zadarma app free, and does it transcribe calls?

The Zadarma app is free with a Zadarma account. Call recordings are stored in Zadarma’s cloud phone system — 200 MB, about 14 hours, on the free plan — and speech recognition uses minutes that come with Zadarma’s paid plans (as of September 2026). WaveKat Voice records and transcribes on your computer instead, free during its public beta.

Is there a Zadarma softphone for Linux?

Zadarma’s own app covers Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, but not Linux. WaveKat Voice runs on Linux as well as Mac and Windows, and Zadarma is in its guided provider list. Zoiper also has a Linux version.

Does WaveKat Voice handle Zadarma push notifications on my phone?

No — WaveKat Voice is a desktop app for Mac, Windows and Linux and doesn’t run on phones, so it can’t deliver mobile push notifications. For incoming Zadarma calls on an iPhone or Android, use the Zadarma app. On the desktop, WaveKat Voice stays registered and rings while the app is open.

Is there a Zadarma softphone for Windows?

Yes. WaveKat Voice runs on Windows 10 and 11 from the Microsoft Store — one listing carrying both the Intel/AMD (x64) and the ARM64 package — and Zadarma is in its guided provider list. Direct .exe installers are available too; those are not code-signed yet, so Windows warns about an unknown publisher on first launch, while the Store package is signed by Microsoft. Zadarma’s own Windows app and Zoiper are the other Windows options.

Can WaveKat Voice answer my Zadarma calls when I am not there?

Yes. A call flow answers the line for you with a greeting, checks your opening hours, offers a phone menu, takes a message, or transfers the call — and the message is recorded and transcribed like any other call, so you can read it instead of listening back. You can also pick the call up while someone is still leaving one. The greeting, taking a message and ringing you are free; phone menus, opening hours and transfers are part of Pro, free for a year during early access. The flow runs on your own computer, so the app has to be running for it to answer — otherwise the call goes to whatever you set up in Zadarma, such as its voicemail.

Can WaveKat Voice log my Zadarma calls in HubSpot?

Yes. Connect your HubSpot account once and every Zadarma call you take or place files itself on the matching contact, with the time, direction, outcome, duration, transcript, and a recording you can play inside HubSpot. It is a Pro feature, free during early access, and webhooks cover any other CRM. Zadarma’s cloud phone system also has its own free HubSpot integration.
