WaveKat Voice is a desktop softphone that signs in to your sipgate phone line over SIP and records and transcribes every call automatically. It runs on Mac, Windows and Linux and is free during the public beta, so it gives a sipgate number automatic recording and a transcript of every call without sipgate’s per-minute Call Recorder or a per-user app upgrade. A call flow can answer the sipgate calls you cannot take, with a greeting and voicemail, and every call can log itself in your HubSpot CRM.
sipgate is in WaveKat Voice’s guided provider list, so you don’t hand-edit SIP fields — you pick sipgate and enter the SIP-ID and SIP password of one of your sipgate phones.
Prefer to enter it by hand? Use your SIP-ID as the username and sipgate.de as the domain, over UDP on port 5060, with a sign-in refresh of 600 seconds — the values sipgate documents. For TCP or TLS, sipgate uses a different server: sip.sipgate.de, port 5060 for TCP or 5061 for TLS. Pick sipgate in WaveKat Voice and the standard settings are filled in for you.

sipgate is a German provider whose cloud phone system gives every user one or more phones, each with its own SIP login. Its own sipgate App runs on Mac, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android, is included in its business plans, and adds AI transcripts and deeper CRM features in paid tiers — and because every sipgate phone is standard SIP, any SIP softphone can sign in too.
Yes. WaveKat Voice is a SIP softphone and sipgate is in its guided provider list, so you pick sipgate, enter a phone’s SIP-ID and SIP password, and it signs in like a desk phone would. It works on Mac, Windows and Linux, and every call is recorded and transcribed automatically.
sipgate’s own sipgate App is included in its business plans and also covers iPhone and Android. If you want every call recorded and transcribed automatically without per-minute or per-user extras, WaveKat Voice does that on Mac, Windows and Linux. PhonerLite is a free Windows-only alternative with manual recording.
It is included in sipgate’s business plans, which start at €12.95 per user a month (at least 2 users, excl. VAT, as of September 2026); the included version transcribes 10 calls a month. Unlimited AI costs €9.95 per user a month (App Business), and HubSpot and Salesforce call logging €19.95 (App Premium). Automatic recording of outgoing calls is 3 ct per minute. WaveKat Voice records and transcribes every call and is free during its public beta.
In the sipgate web app, go to Accountverwaltung → User, pick the person, then click the phone. An info box shows the SIP-ID (like 1234567e0), the registrar sipgate.de, and the phone’s SIP password. Use that SIP password in WaveKat Voice — not the password you log in to sipgate with.
Most often the password is wrong: WaveKat Voice needs the phone’s SIP password from the info box, not your sipgate login password. Also check that you used a phone from sipgate’s cloud phone system — sipgate trunking is a separate product for whole phone systems. If the test call to 10000 fails, turn off the automatic area code for that phone in sipgate, or call your own number from a mobile instead.
It signs in with a phone’s SIP-ID, just like a desk phone, so sipgate counts it as one of your devices. sipgate’s business plans include 2 per user, and each additional one costs €4.95 a month (excl. VAT, as of September 2026).
Yes. sipgate offers TLS on a separate server: in WaveKat Voice’s advanced settings, set the server to sip.sipgate.de, the connection to TLS and the port to 5061. That protects the sign-in; WaveKat Voice does not encrypt the call audio itself (SRTP). UDP on the default settings is the simplest choice.
Yes. WaveKat Voice runs on Windows 10 and 11 from the Microsoft Store — one listing carrying both the Intel/AMD (x64) and the ARM64 package — and sipgate is in its guided provider list. Direct .exe installers are available too; those are not code-signed yet, so Windows warns about an unknown publisher on first launch, while the Store package is signed by Microsoft. The sipgate App and PhonerLite are the other Windows options.
Yes. A call flow answers the line for you with a greeting, checks your opening hours, offers a phone menu, takes a message, or transfers the call — and the message is recorded and transcribed like any other call, so you can read it instead of listening back. You can also pick the call up while someone is still leaving one. The greeting, taking a message and ringing you are free; phone menus, opening hours and transfers are part of Pro, free for a year during early access. The flow runs on your own computer, so the app has to be running for it to answer — otherwise sipgate’s own voicemail takes the call.
Yes. Connect your HubSpot account once and every sipgate call you take or place files itself on the matching contact, with the time, direction, outcome, duration, transcript, and a recording you can play inside HubSpot. It is a Pro feature, free during early access, and webhooks cover any other CRM.
