WaveKat Voice is a desktop softphone that connects to a Telnyx SIP connection and records and transcribes every call automatically. It runs on Mac, Windows and Linux, it is free during the public beta, and there is no monthly subscription. Telnyx itself doesn’t ship a softphone for everyday calling — its portal’s Web Dialer is a test tool — so WaveKat Voice is a way to make and take calls on your Telnyx number from your computer. A call flow can answer the Telnyx calls you cannot take, with a greeting and voicemail, and every call can log itself in your HubSpot CRM.
Telnyx is in WaveKat Voice’s guided provider list, so the SIP server is filled in for you. On the Telnyx side you create a SIP connection with a username and password in the Mission Control portal — no support ticket needed.
Prefer to enter it by hand? Telnyx’s SIP server is sip.telnyx.com; outside the US you can use a regional server instead — sip.telnyx.eu (Europe), sip.telnyx.ca (Canada) or sip.telnyx.com.au (Australia). Don’t use siphv.telnyx.com: it doesn’t accept sign-ins from a phone app. Pick Telnyx in WaveKat Voice and it fills in sip.telnyx.com for you.

Telnyx is a global telephony platform for developers and businesses: you buy phone numbers and pay per minute, and connect them to your own software or phones over SIP. It doesn’t make a softphone for everyday calling. Its portal has a browser-based Web Dialer for test calls, it offers WebRTC SDKs for building your own calling app, and it publishes setup guides for SIP softphones such as Zoiper, Linphone, MicroSIP, Bria and Acrobits.
Yes. WaveKat Voice is a SIP softphone and Telnyx is in its guided provider list. Create a Credentials SIP connection in the Telnyx portal, pick Telnyx in WaveKat Voice, and enter the connection’s username and password. It works on Mac, Windows and Linux, and every call is recorded and transcribed automatically.
Not for everyday calling. The Telnyx portal has a Web Dialer in its Debugging section for test calls, and Telnyx offers WebRTC SDKs for developers building their own app. For day-to-day calls you register a SIP softphone — Telnyx publishes guides for Zoiper, Linphone, MicroSIP, Bria and others, and WaveKat Voice has Telnyx in its provider list.
If you want a subscription-free desktop softphone for Telnyx that also records and transcribes every call, WaveKat Voice is built for that on Mac, Windows and Linux. Zoiper covers desktop and mobile, with Pro for desktop at €11.11 (as of September 2026) and transcripts through the separate Zoiper Scribe app.
In the Telnyx Mission Control portal, go to Voice → SIP Trunking → Create SIP Connection, choose Credentials, assign your number to it and attach an Outbound Voice Profile. Then in WaveKat Voice add an account, pick Telnyx, and enter the connection’s username and password; the domain sip.telnyx.com is filled in for you.
Telnyx trial accounts can only call, and receive calls from, the phone number you verified at sign-up, for up to 10 minutes a call, using the USD $5 testing credit. Upgrade your Telnyx account to call anyone — WaveKat Voice doesn’t need any change.
Your Telnyx phone number isn’t assigned to the SIP connection yet. Assign the number to the connection you signed in with in the Telnyx portal, then call it from another phone to test — Telnyx doesn’t publish an echo test number.
A 403 on outgoing calls means the SIP connection has no Outbound Voice Profile, or your caller ID isn’t a number you own or have verified on Telnyx. A 401 or “password rejected” usually means you entered your portal password — use the connection’s own username and password instead.
No — WaveKat Voice is a desktop app for Mac, Windows and Linux and doesn’t run on phones, so it can’t deliver mobile push notifications. For Telnyx calls on an iPhone or Android, use a mobile SIP app such as Zoiper. On the desktop, WaveKat Voice stays registered and rings while the app is open.
Yes. A call flow answers the line for you with a greeting, checks your opening hours, offers a phone menu, takes a message, or transfers the call — and the message is recorded and transcribed like any other call, so you can read it instead of listening back. You can also pick the call up while someone is still leaving one. The greeting, taking a message and ringing you are free; phone menus, opening hours and transfers are part of Pro, free for a year during early access. The flow runs on your own computer, so the app has to be running for it to answer.
Yes. Connect your HubSpot account once and every Telnyx call you take or place files itself on the matching contact, with the time, direction, outcome, duration, transcript, and a recording you can play inside HubSpot. It is a Pro feature, free during early access, and webhooks cover any other CRM.
